Kicked out of campgrounds??

How many have been told they have to leave campgrounds due to government shutdown?? And what did you do?? Where did you find a place to stay?? Did they give you any warning??
We got thrown out on the previous shutdown several years ago. Thank goodness, we were expecting it, and were close enough to home to drive in one day.

  • Bummer for those whose holiday plans were messed up. Probably some extra Walmart "campers" this weekend.
  • The only time we were at a national park during a shutdown, we were allowed to stay, but new arrivals were not allowed in. The only time we were told to leave a national park was when a grass fire was nearby and high winds were expected. The town suspended enforcing an ordinance prohibiting overnight stays in a parking lot, and a local shopping center allowed a bunch of us to stay there until it was safe to return to the park the next day.
  • We never stay in federal government run campgrounds, so, no, we haven't been kicked out. We did have to leave an RV park due to flooding. We used our Good Sam app and quickly found another RV park nearby.
