Knock It OFF!

5:45am. I'm snuggled in bed blissfully asleep. The "camper" 12 feet away is quietly packing up his TT in order to get an early start on the road.

Then holy heck breaks loose. My neighbor elects to use an impact wrench to raise his landing gear!! My first waking thought is that a semi is bearing down on our RV and the noise is his jake brake. I jump out of bed while wearing nothing but my skivvies, and promptly run smack dab into the wardrobe door and fall backwards onto the previously slumbering DW. Be warned... Never fall on to this person while she is asleep. But don't worry, the knots on my forehead will eventually go away.

So if you were the guy with the impact wrench at 5:45 IN THE MORNING, "knock it off knucklehead"!

  • Try some guy who starts his diesel work rig up at 4am to let it warm up for an hour. Not a semi mind you but the kind of setup that services heavy equipment.....Couldn't say anything, he parked it across the road from the RV park because the park doesn't allow work trucks on the property.....

This would happen all week long, like clock work.
  • Great story...all part of the adventure (I guess).

Probably using a heavy duty air wrench and he probably also started up his compressor to drive it....:S

  • 5:45am? I would have been finishing my first cup of coffee by then. :B

But it really doesn't make sense to use an impact wrench at all for that purpose. Why hammer away at the landing gear? An electric drill without the impact feature is best suited for that purpose. :@
  • Unfortunately, you can't fix rude/stupid.

It sounds like your neighbor was both.
