Boy we love to pick on the Icon of the camping /RV world.
Fact is there are only a few national RV chains of any kind.
CW and KOA come to mind.
Collectively they do a decent job including things like providing this forum or making it possible to send a gift card that can be used at CG's nationwide.
However these operations are huge by comparison to most camping retail outlets.
Things do go hay wire and mistakes will happen.
What amuses me is how quickly one will chastise these operations when mistakes happen.
I for one like the idea of CW and KOA being available nationwide. I do understand the shortcomings of a large corporate operation however I also appreciate the advantages a large nationwide operation offers.
I can shop at the smaller local True Value up the street or I can shop at the big box Home Depot down the road.
Sometimes I need the attention and individual service and then sometimes I just need to make a bulk purchase. Both are viable operations that meet my needs but I understand the differences for better and worst between the 2 operations.
Sometimes I think we just like to bash the big boys of the retail camping industry because they are easy targets.
