KOA Installing EV Chargers

They are not. But people tow them on trailers. Some tow leafs on tow dolly’s. We towed a small EV on a trailer for 5 years.

KOA would not be pursuing those for their health. They are expecting to draw people into their facilities because of them. In areas with existing natural areas which draw people to visit, IF the KOA has ev charging stations hopefully it will draw folks away from the National park/forest or whatever campgrounds so they can charge their EV. I dont do KOA other than as an absolute last possible option. So filling them with urban folks who think KOA is "back to nature" is fine with me.

Yes, or at least the ones I am familiar with do. Charge current can also be limited to whatever the driver wants down to 5 amps. They (the electric vehicle) will however never pull more than the EVSE (charge station) says they can have. Keep in mind that these are AC charge stations (not chargers) and they feed 240 volts at max 40 amps to the cars built in chargers. As per the article they are 10 KW units. They would need their own 50 amp breaker on the pedestal.

I don’t see why they are tethered to anything. It’s just a convenient “fuel” point. Maybe I misunderstood what you meant.

There will be some sort of upcharge for the sites, the more important issues are
1. voltage, will they be able to maintain enough volts at each site to cover 50 amps for running 2 or 3 ac units plus the ev charging?
2. Imagine all the areas you can now book because the Urban folks are now tethered to the KOA.
Personally, I would look at places like Kali, and say "good", tie them to the KOA.

Impossible according to many many posts right here on RV.net claiming a small substation would need to be installed near each campground.
Or maybe this stuff is not all that difficult?

Most vendors do. Looking at the pedestal I don’t see a card reader so it might be a flat fee. There is a campground about an hour from here that does that although the EVSE is in a common area and not at the site.

No idea, but I doubt it. KOA is typically a buffet experience. They’ll probably start with a dozen sites and add as needed.

It’s getting some attention from those pulling RV’s with EV/SUV’s though. Probably a good business decision.
