People shop price not quality. Look at all the high end MFG that went under. You have a choice but low cost sells. The cheeper they build them the lower the price. Americans have drove quality out by there choices,so blame the buying public, not the MFG giving them what they want (cheep). I guess that hits a little to close to home, we need someone else to blame.
