Land Rover Defender 90

Has any member here flat towed, 4 down, a Defender 90? I have received conflicting advice on the proper setup of transfer and transmission. My 1997 Owner's manual shows both should be in neutral position. My LR mechanic says that's outdated information and the tranny should be in park to prevent unlubricated rotation that will still be lightly powered from the "disconnected" transfer case. Planning on putting base plates on both the Defender and our 2010 Rubicon but the Jeep is a pretty straight forward solution. Haven't yet found anybody that flat tows a Defender.
