LCD TV hold down

Ours has always gone on the bed during travel, but it isnt in a cabinet. Its on a tv stand

First thing that comes to mind: is there any way to put a couple of hooks on opposite sides and attach a bungee while traveling? Lot easier than disconnecting and reconnecting. Also cheap and effective, 2 of my favorite things.

Use the stand that comes with it & drill a couple of holes in it & secure it to the cabinet bottom. Some stands already have holes for this purpose.

My 19" is mounted on the wall in the rear bedroom & I never have to remove it when traveling.

Lets see if I can explain what I did similar to your situation. I cut 3/4 plywood size of cabinet interior bottom and laid flat. Toward the back I put a second piece of ply vertical toward back of cabinet which I made strong with "L" shelf brackets. On the vertical ply I mounted a swivel LCD TV mount. The bottom edge of the TV is cushioned with pipe insulation foam tibeing. I then hooked a bungee across the front of TV for travel.It works great for my application as I can swivel it depending on where we are in the trailer. To tighten the posotioning knobs on the mount you need access to the back when TV is in place. It worked for me. There are many more clever than I. This is just one consideration

Valcro ribbon attached to base of cabnet, over tv and attached to other end of valcro strip.

We have nylon web straps that keep our two flat screens upright. Clips on the cabinet sides and the straps go around the top of the screens.

We have a 21" that lies between 2 pillows and a 32" that lies face up on the bed covered by the bedding. Been traveling this way for years. Never a problem. Oh yeah, take down and set back up takes about 2 minutes each way. We can afford the time :)

our tv sets in a cabinet and there is a strap that is screwed into the wall behind the tv and the strap comes around the tv and is snapped together like a dog collar and you can pull on the excess strap to tighten the hold on the tv. the tv bracket is also screwed to the back wall.

We have a small 19" LCD in the kids room in our bunk house and ay it face down on the couch in their room, base gets put in the crack for the two cusions and the screen down agains the cusion. Never had problems this way. I did forget to take it out of its cubby hole once or twice and it never moved butI still disconect and remove just in case.

I like the screw it down option but have been looking at some wall mounts also.

Almost all LCD/LED televisions are designed to be wall mounted. Check to back to see if there are four screw holes, or check the instructions which came with the TV.

There are dozens of wall mount models available - from fixed ones like which came with the main 38" TV in our TT, to swing arm units which I put a 24" LED TV on for the bedroom. There are extension type wall mounts which are designed to hold a TV in a cabinet and allow you to pull it forward for viewing.

For the swing arm unit I mounted two long battery tiedown nylon straps to hold it in place when we travel. I can also slip that TV off the mount by sliding it up, and place it outside in good weather to watch the race in comfort.

Just make sure you have a strong wood backing block if you want to install a fixed mount. Many of the mounts will weigh more than today's very light weight TVs.
