I have a brand new, never-kinked hose, and a brand new water filter. It appears the water filter leaks where the hose is screwed in. I have tightened it up, but it did not help.What about putting pipe dope on the threads of the hose? Or Teflon tape? would either of these help?The filter is the standard 'blue' filter you get on RV's.Any help you can give me is appreciated.

Is there a missing hose washer?

I have had issues with new "water accessories" that came with the plastic hose washers. I replace them with the rubber ones and have had no further issues.

I ran into a problem where the male end of the hose was too short, they save a fraction of a penny on brass. Two washers temporarily took care of the problem. I replaced the end.

The solid part of the fittings need to be sealed with the washers, the threads just hold the ends together and compress the washers. Make sure the hose ends are square without any strange bumps.

Not sure you're talking about the same washers. :@
The washers in the female ends of the hose, not any washer on the filter itself.

The female end is the end that leaking.

I'd guess it's fine when you first hook up because there's little pressure on the lines. After the lines are filled and pressure builds, your leaks appear.

Yea I don't get it either. Its a **** shoot when I hook up if its going to leak or not. It looks find and then I come back a couple hours later only to find it leaking, I give up

There is no sealing function to the threads, the seal is at the end, good washers make a big difference.
