I would say it is more likely to be junk plastic from china containing who-knows-what than high quality plastic used in hospitals.
Like the high quality plastics used for plumbing vents, fridge vents, snap trim etc? The high quality plastics that fade out then crack or turn to dust after 4 or 5 years? :)
