LED rechargeable flashlight

I would suggest a led Cree chip flashlight with three AAA batteries. I would not worry about it being rechargeable as the led uses so little power and they are eight dollars on eBay. Do a search of flashlight and IvyLog for a good post on this subject.

Here's a post I made a few months ago about flashlights. Someone recommended the battery powered LED light.
I bought them and was impressed. The price has gone up slightly since I made the purchase. They were under $10. Now they're a little over that price.
It's powered by 3 AA batteries.

The Dorcy is a dinosaur. I use the Cree 2000 lumen under $10. You can go AAA or the 18650 rechargeable batteries. The 18650 batteries are all over the map on quality. The cheap ones are worn out repacked laptop cells buy new Panasonic.

We just use moon and stars. If we need to pickup after dog, we use flashlight app on phone.

I used to have an led with hand crank charger. It worked great for long scout camp outs.

I use the ones that harbour freight gives away at times, they take 3 AS A battery that come with the flashlight and they last long enough for the price.

I have a few Solar rechargables that would be just about right for that job I mean why pay for electricity when the SUN WILL PROVIDE.

Mag Light makes a LED Head for some of their products and some of those are rechargable. The smallest ones (1 or 2 AA) are not really that great as rechargables. Never been happy with those. But the larger say 4D kind work great.

i use rechargeable AAA batteries in it, if the batteries are weak, i just put in a fresh set
if they die, just get new batteries, instead of new flashlight

I hate the AAA batteries! They have about 1/3 the capacity of a AA and cost more per battery than AA.

There are a lot of good quality 14500 or 18650 flashlights sold on Amazon (I prefer it over Ebay because of product ratings/reviews). If you can handle changing the battery, $10 will get you a couple 14500 batteries a charger, and a flashlight. 18650 combo is under $20. Another idea is a headlamp. A friend of mine has this one that is very bright. Keeps your hands free for walking the dog. They looks dorky to wear, but they are extremely practical.

I have several Harbor Freight LED flashlights that are free with any purchase. They are not top of the line but they work for me and the price is right.

x2 on the Cree. I bought a pair for less that $15 with the charger and 18650 batteries. They are no more than 4" long and are excellent for late night. Fit in a shirt pocket and are bright enough on high to illuminate an entire area.
