I'm in the army. I assure you I've spent enough time in a tent, LOL.
I think all the issues brought up, cost, time, desire for constant connectivity, pressures from work all contribute to a smaller population of young people camping. I myself am 40, but started my family a little later than others so I've gotten beyond some of those factors and actually look forward to the disconnection from all the distractions. We have a TV in the TT that has only been turned on twice, once during the PDI and once because it was a torrential rain storm and we could only play cards/read a book/tell stories for so long. Fire always beats TV around our campsite, but sometimes Mother Nature doesn' cooperate.
