Well here we are October 23 and we have had our first snowfall of the year. Enough to stay on the ground.

Rather than "first snow fall of the year" do you mean first snow fall of the season??
I was fishing in Ontario years ago in mid-June. Woke up to 6" of snow on the ground.

15 to 20 foot snow drifts, blowing snow then wet snow then to top it off a 2 day ice storm,,,, YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!! - Ahhh,thank you all for posting your snow reports!
Makes me even MORE happier that I quit that Northern snow/cold nonsense when I sold the house to go full time RV'ing.
I promise I will think of you'all while basking in the sun come this Winter!

We are in Virginia and we had our first snow this evening. Snowed for only about 30 minutes and most of it melted, but we had snow.- 81 degrees here in Austin. This is the start of camping season here, because from late April until late September, it is just too hot to go RV-ing without the RC blasting away most of the day.

Very unusual to see snow in the desert but it does happen now and then. Usually melts quickly.- I saw on the weather report yesterday that the reason we're on our 2nd (or 3rd?) week of warm sunny weather is because the jet stream is sending the cold wet weather up North before it jumps South. Sorry ya'll, I guess it's our fault out here in the NW!

- It does look pretty though as it is falling this afternoon. The flakes are those nice big wet ones.
