I have driven that stretch of road on and off for 40 years, and with my parents before that. Nothing has changed as far as the log trucks on that stretch that I know of in the last 70 years. Parents complained about it as well, even back in the day
They did improve the road, from back in the day, but it is still a slog.
In all that time I hardly ever recall a log truck saying thanks, for us letting them pass. From their point of view, they are paid by the load, and day after day they have to try and get around slower vehicles. They know ever turn twist and bump.
I am of the opinion, one would need a low flying F-15, fighter jet to stay ahead of them.
So no I don't think there is much else the OP can do. It is just sort of the log truck culture on that road. Always has been as far as I can recall
