For lawn mower blade maintenance etc. I raise the whole mower off the floor with a chain hoist I can then stand up and do whatever maintenance that need to be done.
I like this idea. I have a 12' tall "A" frame with a 2 ton chain hoist on it. I guess I could hoist my mower 6-8 feet into the air to work on the underside of the deck.lol I've got a commercial 60", Lazer X-Mark zero turn.
You have much more faith in hardware than I. I've worked on large commercial mowers and there is no way I'd lift one in the air that high and work underneath it. Basically, because there is no reason to do so.
For blade removal, it's only necessary to lift the cutting deck high enough to get either an air tool and socket or wrench with socket on the retaining nut.
