leveling jacks

Hello, my is Paul and I am new to the RV world. My wife and I just purchased our first coach witch is a 2003 American Eagle. It has the Power Gear hydraulic leveling system in it. I am having problems with the operation of it.

The first time i deployed the jacks they went down about 6in and stopped. i could not get them to go down any futher. i tried to retract them and had no luck. By the next morning they had retracted. Now i can't get them to do anything.

After talking to some friends and a very primitive trouble shooting I cleaned all the electrical connections on and around the solenoid. Any help or input would be appreciated.
  • Check the fluid level. Mine were doing something similar and the fluid level was low. They loose a little fluid over time as it seeps past the seals on the cylinders.

Be sure to check the fluid level with the jacks retracted.
  • the fluid level is fine. i was thinking that the solenoid may be bad, do you know how to bypass it?
