Life time warranty

Saw this on the tube last night. Noble RV in southern MN. is giving
a life time warranty on all rvs. As long as you area the origanal
owner. Has any of you out there heard of this. They say bumper to bumper
inside and out. They have 4 stores. Almost sounds too good to be true.

  • Lifetime or not...They WILL get into your pockets before you drive away.
Watch the video, it doesn't cover much, certainly not "bumper to bumper". It only covers manual stabilizer jacks not electric or hydraulic, says nothing about slide-outs, roofs, water leaks, windows, graphics, electronics...Do you think these "inspections" will be free?
I have had experience with their service department. I have no reason to want to go back even if it was free.

  • I was told by a vendor at one time that lifetime is not forever. It is the expected life of the product. For example, a part for my propane heating stove in my house had a lifetime warranty that was for 7 years, the expected life of that part.

So what happens if Noble RV goes out of business?

What happens if the underwriter (if there is one) goes out of business?

Not an RV - but Google the KIA 100K mile warranty.
You will have paid for that one - many, many times over after jumping through the required hoops.

    *Any* warranty has limitations..:W

  • Don't get caught up in the hype. Noble is not warrantying anything. It is a warranty that is associated somehow with the individual component manufacturers. If an item that is "broken" from the factory is not found to be warrant-able by that parts' manufacturer, you are welcome to buy a new one and pay for it to be installed by Noble and then the manufacturer will "evaluate" to find out if it is a mfg defect or not. If not, you are SOL...ask me how I know.

I am in the middle of this BS and will be very vocal about my dissatisfaction if not resolved within the next couple days.
  • There is a new warranty system on the market that presently has about 90 dealers signed up. It is purported to be a life time warranty and includes exceptional second hand units up to two years old. We all know what the Warranty business has been like in the past. I can't see how this is going to be much different. 95% of the policies pay for the 5% they pay out. It is a ponzi; as is about all insurance.
  • An RV dealer in our area has started a similar program. The catch is you have to "do the recommended maintenance outlined in the Forever Warranty agreement".

I once bought a vehicle from an auto dealer that offered something similar on the engine and drive train. I had to have them (or a certified Ford dealer if I lived more than 60 miles from one of their dealerships) do ALL the maintenance! If I changed my own oil or had anyone else do it, the agreement was void. They make their money off the maintenance they require you to do.
