Considering a small truck as a TOAD...would like the bed as additional storage...truck doesn't need to be brand new...an older truck line that has a good reputation will be fine...what is the approximate cost for setting up a vehicle to be towed. I will be towing with a 2000 Winnebago Minnie Winnie. THANKS!!!

Be sure to first understand the towing capacity of your "C". You may be facing a limit of about 4K on your hitch and your GCWR rating. This will rule out all but the smallest sub compact pick up trucks...

THANKS sch911...a light truck is EXACTLY what I'm looking for...something to have with me to "get around" and not have to go in the Winnie...initially I was thinking of an older Datsun truck...something along that line would be perfect for my needs...

No older (1980s) rear wheel drive small truck like a Datsun/Nissan, Mazda or Ford Courier is going to be flat towable without a driveshaft disconnect. Anything newer is going to weigh close to 4000 lbs.

Shouldn't any 2wd manual transmission small pickup be towable 4 down?

Check the older toad guides 2010 Ford Ranger regular cab 2WD 4cyl with manual trans is 3030 base weight and towable as a toad. I used a 1985 Dodge D-50, 4 cyl., manual trans compact pickup truck by Mitsubishi and a 1989 Mitsubishi 4 cyl., manual trans Mighty Max pickup truck as toads with no problems. They were both regular cab and light weight. I wish I still had the 89 mighty max it was a great little truck. Regards, Dick
