More info for the curious -
The trailer spec weight is 6040, with tongue of 685. What is not counted:
15% of the additional weight on the door sticker, full propane, a bike rack and bikes, and my adding 2 6v batteries. Plus the WDH. That pushes tongue to 1099. Receiver is rated to 1150. Truck payload is 2160.
Trailer has a GVW of 7500.
So, with 51 lbs left before I hit the receiver max, that means I can only load 340-420 into the trailer.
So I have to trim weight, move something, or give up something....
The Anderson seems to be right up the alley. There are some long old threads about how it doesn't distribute the weight well with heavier trailers. But there also seems to be a lot of people that love it. Looks like a call to see if they've resolved some of the those complaints from a few years ago!
(Yeah, I know the pic below is of a fifth. Roof tear sent it to the junk yard a couple of days ago. Can't replace, so have to move to a TT).
