Hey, everyone -
We're new to this but are already thinking of upgrading our battery. I see wild variances in the cost of LiFe batteries. What make one better than another?

mostly its the quality of the parts, and the construction. don't let price dictate that quality because it doesn't.
newer batteries are all using pretty much the same quality of cells, so the major difference is how well it is built and do all of the advertised features work.
some of the well built cheep ones are redodo and litime. there are others, and if you watch youtube, Will Prouse is a good one to watch, he gets batteries tests them in a few ways and tears them apart to look at the construction. I believe he did another ultra low one recently the other day that was surprisingly good.
