Nah, you can see graffiti from Roman soldiers on some of the monuments in Egypt. Or the travelers who stopped by Register Cliff, Signature Rock, etc. People have been leaving their mark for a very long time. Consider the cave art in France, and the petrogylphs in the Southwest.

Before anyone get their knickers in a twist, in no way do I condone this activity. I'm just saying it's been done for centuries and is hardly a sign of "entitlement". If anything it's a sign of ignorance and total lack of regard for who comes after you.
