Here's my answer: That point should have passed a few decades ago. As Mother Earth enters it's rapid exponential decay, mankind everywhere should now know better. It's all graffiti now and should be punished accordingly.

We nay never know the outcome..unless of course they grab him and decide to make an example of him. Which, you know..wouldn't be the worst that could happen.

1. The ULTIMATE way to slow Mother Earth's exponential decay is human population control through reduction of human birthrates - on a world scale. i.e. The DW and myself stopped at 2 children ... one of our kids stopped baby production at two children ... and the other kid will produce no children.

2. Our stick house has a garden - to help with less food growing for at least ourselves.

3. Our stick house and RV's FW tank (before trips) get their water from a spring - so no large scale water supply infrastructure is required for most of our water.

4. Our stick house's sewer and RV's black tank (after trips) dump into our septic tank system - so no large scale sewage disposal infrastructure is required for most of our sewage.

5. Our stick house electricity and RV storage electricity come from a renewable supply electric company - so it doesn't need to burn anything to create the electricity that it delivers to us.

6. When home we don't run around a lot in a daily driver to live - we buy food (that which we don't grow) in large quanties to minimize trips and we order a lot of other stuff over the Internet so one delivery truck efficiently delivers stuff to many people all in one trip.

7. We heat our stick house with a high efficiency heat pump using electricity from the company in 5., above, that doesn't burn anything.

8. The newest of our 3 vehicles is a 2005 - so no excessive energy from Mother Earth is used in renewing our vehicles way too often.

9. Yeah, we have a gas RV - but it's a small one that didn't require a lot out of Mother Earth to manufacture, and we don't use it enough so as to excessively pollute the air, and it doesn't require a resource-intensive full hookup RV resort to camp in.

Less people - living a bit Lower On the Hog - are the final solutions to slowing the decay ... all IMHO of course.

The “Mother Earth” mentality is a cultist movement that preaches the insane notion that humans are a disease upon the planet which we inhabit. Maybe we are in the midst of just such a correction? I applaud pnichols for his unselfish life choices. I hope that all who chose large families have produced at least one teacher, scientist, farmer or health care worker to mitigate the damage. ;)

Hmmmm ... I merely used "Mother Earth" in place of "the Earth" ... forgetting that many associate negatives with the Mother part. Personally, I despise all cults and the damage that they do in pushing folks towards false realities.

I'm always amazed by folks who think the quantity of humans living at any given time can approach infinity on a finite globe. I guess they assume that we can ad infinitum science-and/or-technology our away around -> enough energy, enough air, enough fresh water, enough food, enough places to hike, enough places to sleep, enough places to go to for entertainment, and enough etc..

Procreating at a "two kids" quantity I'm sure isn't the mathematically correct long term sustainable procreation rate per couple ... but it sure most likely isn't higher than around "two".

So ... it's acceptable for humanity to procreate at any rate beforehand ... because the eventual massive deaths from "Mother Earth correcting herself" will be natural, and hence OK. I think not.

On the contrary - "my body, my choice" thinking is exactly what makes folks think that they can have any number of off-spring that they want and somehow it will all work out in the end.

Remember what the goal is - a good quality of life for all things that wind up living on this finite globe - including us RV'ers who would like to find a camping spot without reservations or crowds or graffiti on the landscape. :)

Anyone who doesn't believe in controlled procreation only has to look at India, and Africa to see the results of unchecked population growth. Doesn't have anything to do with mother earth, it has to do with finite resources.

At some point those resources will run low, and those people who are looking at doing without will start casting very hungry gazes at those of us who have enough.
