Does anyone look back at photos and videos of old trips? In the past we'd take photos and occasionally look at them, but for the most part they gathered dust on our hard drive. Now that we started posting videos we tend to look through them a bit more, but I just did a "2015 Year in Review" video and got to look back through everything from the whole year. It's amazing how much we've done in a single year and we all sat around laughing and smiling as we watched. No, I don't sit and look at old photos. But, I do think about the warmth of summer, especially today. 9 degrees and a high of 30. :(

You bet! My recall is poor, rely heavily on queues to remember things. Because of this, I put efforts into documenting our trips with a travel log (in a spreadsheet) where I can also pull mileage and counts. I reference the weather, route, people we've met, places we've seen, comments about the site we had (or the site we hope to have next time we go to that park). Stirs memories of the trip, very helpful. The pictures we take are in folders by year, nested in each are reference to the month and place or activity so we can find them easily.And no, I'm not OCD. I'm CDO ... gotta' get the letters in the right order. :R

Absolutely.Some trips stand out more than others also.As mentioned above, I also have a poor recall and find myself smiling often when I see the photo memories. We have enjoyed wonderful experiences, feel fortunate to have them to look back on.

We look back at photos often. And, usually when I see them I just smile and think about that trip. When my MIL was getting forgetful in her 90s, I picked out 12 of our best pictures with our children on them, a put together a calendar for the new year. That way, she always remembered our kids as she viewed the calendar. It turned out that all of the family members wanted this calendar and has become somewhat of a tradition.This year, after a summer trip to Alaska, I used Shutterfly to put together a book of favorite pictures with some narrative for the family. It was a huge hit.

We were just talking about this yesterday. I must have thousands of pictures on the hard drive. That I swore I would download to a CD and label and file, which of course I didn't. :(I think about everyone's children/family that are going to miss out on looking at an album of their family history and also learning about the history.I know I 'really' enjoyed looking at my parents albums with real pictures of their parents, them growing up and of course all of us growing up.I think it's sad that that part will now all be missing. There was even some talk a while back that even if you put it on CD the tech guru's are not even sure how long CD's will last over the course of time. Or if there will be a computer that will read them!.Just feel that with the onset of technology a lot of history might not ever really be recorded.

x2. We take more, and never look at them. And a hard drive crashes, or a phone dies, and maybe that's that. Yes, backups should be done, but I for one am not religious about doing that. I should be.

I completely agree. I get lazy with this and when I'm going through my photos I find plenty of junk and duplicates

I take a ton of pictures. I make photo books through Shutterfly. I do a Year In Review book. Every year is in one book. As soon as we finish a trip or a holiday, I go through my pics and put them right in the book. It's always up to date, and I order it right after the new year when the books go on sale for 1/2 off. We look at the books quite a bit. Agnes

X2 Great Idea.

My friend did the same thing. I was at their house one day and asked about 'the' picture I saw which I thought was the screen saver picture on their computer as I walked by.

They asked 'which' one?.....Because they did what you did, they had over 700 pictures rotating around as a screen saver. Every minute or so it changed to the next picture!! :B

IMHO this is the best use of all the pictures we take.

Our travel photos are in our blog -- we look at them fairly often. Our family photos are organized by date and are sitting on the computer hard drive -- rarely look at them.

Interesting idea! It seems like a great way to display photos in the same way without replacing the entire table. I wonder if a 1/8" lip could be added to the table to hold the panel in place.

Only recently I went through all of our RVing digital photos that cover the last eleven years and pulled about 900 selected photos and put them onto my laptop and they now make up the screensaver.

I've also put the same group of photos onto a memory card and have it plugged into the TV and from time to time I just turn the TV on and put those photos onto slide show mode.

We have a lot of fun seeing them and often have to try and guess when and where the photo was taken.

I take some photos and save them. I also save my Facebook or e-mail write up's that I send to friends and family. During the winter when I'm snowed in I re-read them to keep my spirit up.
