They give it a 4800lb rawr but the wheels used are only rated 2275lbs each. Ford won’t come right out and say it but the HDPP is just for increasing truck payload stand alone.
The 2275 lb is probably a typo in fleet Ford specs.
F150 HD Ford owners have mentioned fleet Ford specs say 17" at 2275 lbs but owners have said their OEM wheels were rated at 2475 lbs capacity.
When Ford had those silly 7 lug wheels they carried a 2400 lb capacity.
FMVSS specs require vehicle mfg to use tires and wheel equal to or greater than the trucks highest GAWR. Ford knows this and they also knows they would face huge fines and face expensive recalls to meet those fed mfg specs.
