- dedmistonModeratorI have a cord and an extension and two Cord Caddy baskets, one for each.
Check out the Cord Caddy on Amazon. - Grit_dogNavigatorBigger bin? Coil it up tighter? Don't try to fit it in a bin and just roll it up like garden hose? Buy a cord reel? Cut it in half and add a plug to each end so each half is easier to handle? Wrap it and store around your propane bottles if they're exposed up front?
- capacitorExplorerMove closer to the power pedestal and don’t use it. That is a big cord. Maybe a hose reel from Home Depot.
- wa8yxmExplorer IIIsoem people put both the 50 amp cord and some of the hoses in what I call wash tubs (Metal or plastic tubs about 3' across)
A tool I have might work.
Hose carrier strap
The link is to Wal*mart
I used it for ... Other stuff never for the 50 amp cord
Since I full timed I put the 50 amp cord in the car.. Then hooked the car behing the RV. Upon arrival at a 50 amp site I pulled in with the car.. Pulled up beside the power post and unloaded the cord. Then Backed the RV in and hooked up. - Super_DaveExplorer50 gallon plastic barrel or garbage can cut in half and coiled in the bottom.
- LantleyNomadA 40' 50 amp cord is too big and heavy for regular use. Get a 25' cord and have a 50 amp extension cord available for those rare times you need a longer cord
- I agree with Langley. 40 ft is to long and heavy to rangel for 1 person. Either cut yours down or by a 25ft and a 15ft extension and only use what you need.
- rhagfoExplorer III40' is a great length! It just needs to be the correct material, our 40' 50 amp (6/4)power cable is made of SOOW electrical cord, it easily fits in a 3 gallon bucket even in freezing weather. The bottom picture my hand is for scale.
- LwiddisExplorer III’d go for a five gallon bucket. You really need a 40 footer? Consider cutting into two 20s.

Won't wast the time with my similar pics. This is one of the best mod's a person can do. I carry a 25' like above plus my cord reel that has 25-30'.
Cold weather the cord is still VERY flexible.
