The last time through (Tuesday last) traffic was backed up to the east side of the golf course, even for Anacortes-bound traffic. The far-right, east-bound through lane was closed. It looked like they were "putting on its party clothes", so it might finally be sorted.
It has definitely improved things for traffic to and from Whidbey Island, but not much for eastbound traffic from Anacortes, since it now is subordinate to traffic southbound to Whidbey.
Why I thought I could avoid the traffic circle(s) is beyond me. But..I survived.
