When I was getting ready to wire the lights for our then new 2011 RAV4, our dealer was very helpful by checking with Toyota that there would be no warranty issues (The federal Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act applies), and then supplying me with wiring diagram copies to help locate the correct wires in the drivers side kick panel. That location gave me plenty of room for the diode packs, and avoided the need to route wires all the way to the back. They also asked for pictures of my wiring, base plate, and lube pump installations, so they could show them to other RV owners that were considering buying a Toyota they could also use as a toad.
