making covers for fan, door window and shower skylight

Has anyone ever done this? Our TC has a skylight over the bathroom. The sun is bleaching the plastic in places and it heats the TC if the door is left open. (I like to keep the dog's water in ther...

I cut a piece of 1/2” construction foam to fit the vent opening, pop-riveted small a piece of chromed angle to one side of the vent and screwed a twist latch to the other to hold the foam in place. It’s worked quite well for over 5 years.
