Well, at least the kids were astute enough to give the cops a good description and his life won’t be pleasant for some time. Though, I admit I would call 911, but my preference would be that they take him away on a stretcher unable to stand trial for months. Unfortunately, in this era you do need to keep a closer watch on your kids than in my day. Apparently, we haven’t done a very good job of keeping the gene pool cleaned out. I recall when I was a young boy that happened to a local kid and they had the perp down at the jail. My uncle was a lieutenant on the police force and they had to slip him out the back and spirit him away. There was an angry mob outside preparing to force their way in and drag him out and lynch him.
Some parents do baffle me. Our granddaughter brought a friend out for a month to travel and camp with us a few years ago. We had only met the parents briefly when they dropped her off at my granddaughter’s house a couple of times and never had a conversation with them. Yet they allowed her to go 1000 miles and spend a month with people they didn’t really know. That still freaks out my DW. She would talk to them; know their entire history and their blood type before she would even remotely consider doing something like that.
