This is Why I carry! Like a post before my kids are always close by and never go to public bathrooms with out my wife or I with them. We bought land next to a lake in central Nebraska just to get our kids out of the camp grounds. The bad part is we live 200 miles from there and 5 miles from one of the most popular lake in the eastern part of the state. Just Google Branched oak News Nebraska and enjoy some light reading.
And you would now be in the jail cell instead of that cretin. As for not staying in a campground, to me that is just irrational fear. At any given time, there are probably millions of people in RV parks and Campgrounds and incidents like this are uncommon enough to merit a thread on this forum. There are surely 10 million uneventful camping nights for each experience like this. You and your child are probably much more likely to get hit by a falling tree then be sexually attacked at a campground bathroom. Of course you should always try and be aware of your surroundings, but packing a gun to go to the toilet is over the top.
