I tow a 1986 Honda Accord, with A/T four wheels down. Eventhough the manual says not too, there was a Honda service bullitan which came out in the middle 1990's advising that it would alright to tow 4 wheels down, if you run the A/T thru each gear before towing and then app. every 8 hr's. after that if you continue to tow. Mine is only 2400 lb's., and I do not use a brake. I live in WV where there are hills, but if I have to go up and down any long 7%(or greater) grades, I usually unhook and let my wife drive it. I believe that I found this info. on towing old Hondas thru Blue Ox.
