Manufacture warranty on used campers?

I purchased a 2014 hideout and was curious if any of the manufacture warranty carries over to a second owner? I purchased it from a dealer and I forgot to ask if any of the manufacture warrantys were going to carry over. i.e. Roof, axles, that sort of thing. Thanks!
  • When I purchased my used 2015 winnebago adventurer, the manufacturers warranty transferred with it. It was originally purchased in july 2014, I purchased it in march 2015, and the warranty was good until july 2015.

Your best answer is going to come from the dealer and the manufacturer. Call them.
  • We bought a used trailer less that a year old. I went through all the manuals and warranty information (some of the warranty registration cards were still in the packet), and they all specifically stated "Original Purchaser".
  • True. Thanks for the info everyone. As much as I hated to do it I bought the warranty that covers all main components of the RV. I hate buying used and not knowing what the previous owners did to it. It had a little leak from the top of the bathroom door window and a front window, looked like the same issue. I was hoping they would cover it but not looking like it. Looks like some caulking is in my future.
  • I think that if it did carry over, it would have been part of the dealers sales pitch.
  • as far as i know, NO RV manufacturer allows factory warranty transfers.
even Jayco dropped it a few years ago.

maybe one or two, like Born Free motorhomes still might.
  • Nothing carries over as far as I know. I bought a used unit that was 8 months old and furnace problems. Because i wasn't the original owner I was S.O.L.

    B.O.
  • The overall Keystone warranty is for one year, so I assume it has run out by now regardless of whether it transfers or not. There may be longer warranties on some of the equipment or appliances installed, and those may or may not transfer; you'd have to check with the individual companies.
  • I don't think they do but your best answer will come from contacting the manufacturer.
