Once again this "discussion" is getting a bit out of hand.
Indeed some on here are brain dead but often not those that you might think.
You cannot judge a business enterprise only on revenue, no matter how big that number is.
What are the expenses ? And the net income and net worth ??
And what are the unfunded liabilities (loans, leveraged buildings and equipment, etc).
Edit: I read the IPO article provided. The complete financials should be available now....or certainly within the next 6 months for anyone who cares. Just from the figures in the article, it looks like the stock buyers now share ownership of almost 700 MILLION in long term debt.
I wonder what rating the major players (like S&P) gave the initial offering ? - mgirardoExplorerThis is just my opinion, but I think the "haters" hate because they've been burned by Camping World. Camping World is thriving and that is great for them. I think the question a lot of people have is "how long will it last?". I bought something online from Camping World once and once I bought something at a dealership, but I've never bought a RV from them or had service done by them so I have no first hand experience there. It seems lots of people still have the same complaints they did before Marcus took over.
I think when people hear that Marcus has turned the company around, they expect to see that their Service has improved and their sales people are honest and knowledgeable. In reality, what it means is that CW has bought out a bunch of dealerships and built a few more. They are growing and they are making more money. Wall Street could care less about the quality of products or services companies put out. As long as the company grows and their profits grow.
I don't care one way or the other. I can live without Camping World. Their prices for accessories/supplies are high compared to their competitors and I don't have one anywhere near me to have to rely on them for service. CW has gotten too much bad press here and other places to even consider ever using them for Service or to purchase a new RV.

I would not discount the ability of CW to make money and have their stock grow. It may not however be one of those stock you buy and forget.
When did CW go public ?
I seem to remember that it did NOT.
The IPO was last Thursday...

Totally agree.
If the folks hatin on him knew how to run a business better than him, I don't think they'd be hanging out as much as they do on rv.net.

- qtla9111NomadSo let's hate the company. Then, we'll find out, just like Walmart, minimum wage, and all the other things we hate, that CW is now part of our portfolio/mutual funds and all of a sudden we are happy campers.

They want to sell you the car with financing, extended warranties, service plans, service. McDonald's makes no money on hamburgers but makes a fortune on fountain drinks. I would not discount the ability of CW to make money and have their stock grow. It may not however be one of those stock you buy and forget.
- beemerphile1ExplorerThanks for posting Old-Biscuit. I have no reason to look in the class A section so I would have never seen the other post.
