Master Tow 80THD

We have a 2014 Honda Pilot 2wd that we'd kike to tow behind our RV. Only dolly that I found that would work with this car is the Tow Master 80THD. I'm new to the tow dolly world so it's making me a tad nervous. Called Honda, and they said a tow dolly won't hurt the car.

One thing that I can't get my mind wrapped around is I've been reading that you take the keys out of the ignition. This locks the steering wheel. If this is true, how do turns work? I don't think this dolly has the swivel plates. Maybe it's very obvious and I'm just not seeing it, but I thight I'd ask before spending $1,600 on a dolly and messing up my wife's car.

Any other info/tips would be appreciated.

http://www.mastertow.com/tow_dollies.html States:The carrying pan steers for your car by swiveling smoothly on polyethylene pads which are maintenance free.
  • The 80THD will be fine, width shouldn't be a problem, where the front wheels are strapped down; is a swivel plate that enables the car to turn with ease. The steering wheel needs to be lock. Have had a couple and towed our toad over 10 years with no issues. sometimes you can forget it's back there.
