Master Tow Question

Bad move, let someone borrow my tow dolly and bent he plate the front tires sit on, I removed the plate (had to cut the 1" bolt off) and repaired the plate, have a new bolt and lock nut. Someone told me to put grease on two pads the plate slides on, is this required, I think of cleaning with breakclean?
  • Quickly skimmed through the manual for my master tow and didn't see anything about lubrication for the plate. But somewhere in the past I think I saw something about this. I would recommend you check out the master tow website "contact us" and give them a call. They have a toll free number. Gary
  • I would NOT put grease on those pads as the grease will attract all sorts of road grime and debris and actually accelerate the wear on the pads.
  • I agree with zigzagrv, I wouldn't grease it unless that is what the manufacturer suggests. Years ago I ran into an issue with PullRite, they recommended using a product called Slip Plate, a dry-film graphite lubricant.

When in doubt I'd contact them.
