I had a severely disabled daughter who passed away a few years ago. I head the Disability Ministry at my church. I have a friend confined to a wheel chair. I mention all of this to show I have experience with the disabled community.
One of the problems that I constantly see is some of the disabled thinking that they should have special privledges above and beyond others while most disabled people are appreciative just being treated as all others.
I never expected anything more for my daughter.
