We are on Medicare and are looking at a Premera Blue Cross Medicare plan for next year.
Has anyone had any experience, yay or nay Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
Your question -and selection of a plan in your area - would do better with an Independent Insurance Advisor.
(NOT sponsored by one of the plans -OR- the opinion of someone on an Internet forum))
Often hospitals will have same.
The person will run the comparisons and benefits of each, as well as for costs and coverage of Rx for Part D.
Same things you can do - but they are *WAY* more familiar with 'em.
The PPOs are pretty much identical, but since you might choose an HMO, the comparison may be really important - if you wish to keep/use the same docs you have now, etc.

I'm just looking for people's opinion of the service I guess. Not the plans. I know what the plan offers and I like the coverage. I am just looking at if there are any problems getting things covered and approved etc. Only someone using the plan could provide that information. The plan we currently have I would recommend the customer service and their rapid approval of referrals etc. to anyone. - ol_Bombero-JCExplorer

LOL. Don't care if you don't anticipate having problems there is always that one time that can take a big chunk out of your life savings. That is what insurance is for.
Chopper,
Do you mean "Anthem" Blue Cross ????
Yep. Spell correct was even worse then that. LOL - Dakota98Explorer

- Dakota98ExplorerBeing that you are in the NW. "Pacific Source" may be available in your area. I have had exceptional luck with them. I only do Part C, as all my meds for the past 6 years come from Canada. It is astoundingly cheaper that way.:B
- rondebExplorerWe are very limited in our choices where we live. I have researched them all and basically we are very healthy so don't anticipate a need for much use of the plan. We have 3 doctors that we do an annual check and that is about it. So no need for an elaborate plan. I want to go with the Premera Blue Cross - HMO/POS. I'm really just looking for feedback on that plan. do people have a problem getting referrals through or rejected. We have very little medical expenses now, but the plan we were on is being discontinued and their replacement plan is 3 times the amount we are paying with nothing more in benefits. The Premera Blue Cross is about what we are paying now with the same coverage.
For certain reasons, we would never even consider AARP - Water-BugExplorer IIPlan F coverage is the same under all carriers, only the premium and customer service varies from one carrier to another.
- Dandy_DanExplorerIf you have access to AARP United Health Care check out the Coverage F. We have had it for a year and have had (0)zero deductable on the medical. Premium is quite reasonable compared to what I had while working and both places were the same insurer. Good Luck in your search.
