I'm going to the same park I sometimes do but, the park is a "First come, First serve" type park. so to get in you have to take your camper down on the holiday weekends a week in advance or you don't get a spot. But, this year there were suppose to be strong storms with hail all week long and I didn't want to leave my camper there. The rules say the only way to reserve spot is to put something in it. So I rented a spot, paid for it, then I put a tent, some lawn chairs, some firewood, and a cheap portable grill in the spot.
There was a big storm with high wind and hail there yesterday so I'm glad my camper was safely home in the shed. But, I'm a little afraid when I show up that my spot will have been taken by someone else when the wind blew the tent away.
I guess I just have to be wait and see. Not something I'm good at.
That's an interesting strategy.
The parks around here mandate the person who paid for the site must occupy it the first night, and then someone must occupy it every night after through check out.
I think some of the parks let you park a hunting trailer in a site during off season, and it can be empty up to half of the nights paid or something complicated like that.
