Understand the headroom issue! We put a 2" memory foam topper directly on top of the matterss in our TC and had no problems with headroom, because you kind of sink down into it.. I have a 6" memory foam cusion on a chaise at home and just put it on the floor to try out! Not very comfy because the foam compresses so much. Memory foam is an "aquired taste" I love it and hubby tolerates it, so if you have never used it I would recommend going to a bedding store that sells those mattresses with foam toppers and try it out!
