I have seen many of them use a rubber belt from a small motor to turn the plate. Take a look and see if it popped off or broke. MCM electronics used to sell various lengths of rubber belts. Just be sure to unplug it before you remove the cover and stay away from any capacitor......it can be holding a charge.
