Microsoft Streets and Trips coming to end of life

What a shame. It was and still is the best trip planning tool an RV'er could have. It was also a great Geographic resource.

That alone made it priceless. The next best thing to a paper map.
There could come a day when the net will go down for a week or more and the whole world will come to a skeeching halt.

It's probably not going to be a real big deal to me because it's only one resource for my trip planning. I really like it's drivetime zone function and I haven't seen anything quite like it in Google maps or Bing. However, as long as I have the program that function will still be available to me.

Oh well, " progress" I suppose. I have the disk so for me, it all still works.

I am disappointed to say the least. I suppose that the installation of gps real time software in vehicles is what is driving the death of the stand alone applications. That, and the ubiquitous "smart" phone that comes with gps built in.

I'm amazed to hear it's still a product!
