microwave/convection oven

Hi all,
My new Highpoint microwave/convection oven is way out of whack. I've read that others have had this issue also. My question is, can this oven, the convection temp. Part, be recalibrated easily? I really don't want to haul my Rpod back to the dealer for warrenty work if I can avoid it.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

When you say way out of whack, how much out of whack are you talking? We don't have a convection oven in our motorhome, but we have one at home. The instructions for our home oven tell us when using the convect feature, to lower the temp on the directions by 25 degrees and use the lower amount of time. If the directions say 425 degrees for 15-18 minutes, then we set it on 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Not sure if your works that way, but I would check with your manual and if not, then contact the manufacturer and ask them about it.
  • Contact the microwave mfg directly and explain the problem clearly. "Out of whack" doesn't explain much.
  • Turn the Espionage setting off - the microwave cameras are taking up too much power...
  • How would the dealer "add whack" to remedy the out of whack situation. Is "whack" measured as a liquid or gas - or is it even a fluid?

Just kidding. We have never had a convection/microwave oven - until now. We pick up our used Winnebago motor home tomorrow, and it has one of those new-fangled mechanical marvels. Luckily, it also has an oven in the range for us Luddites.

Give the convection oven a try sometime; you might find you like it. A convection oven is nothing more than an ordinary oven with a fan to circulate the air; it's used in the same basic way as a luddite oven, but takes a little less time and/or a little lower temperature to cook most things. (The fan also helps keep the temperature relatively even throughout.)

(I'm assuming you have used a microwave; if not, definitely also give that a try.)
