We were both MI. WLToo was a squint (imagery interpreter/intel analysis); I was a spook (counterintelligence special agent). Both officers. At the same time, my cousin was a Navy wirehead (SIGINT).
WLToo's daddy was Navy WWII in the Pacific; mine was Army Infantry in the Philippines, Okinawa, and Japan. His grandad was an enlisted Army Signal Corps pilot before WWI. Mine was Infantry in WWI.
WLToo doesn't know much about further ancestors' military service yet. My family's military service is documented back to the French and Indian War so far. Every single generation had at least one serviceman.
My nephew is carrying on the tradition. He's Army Infantry with two Afghanistan tours, currently training to be a helicopter mechanic. Plans on a career. A cousin his age is in the Coast Guard, and she's doing very well there.
