A plug is a male connector on the end of a cord. A receptacle is what the male plug is inserted into to connect for power.
You seem to have a connectivity problem and, as others have said, all of the wire connections need to be verified tight and usable. That means the load center cover in the house needs to be removed and the wires inspected for good connection.
If you have 120v power at the pedestal and have no power in your RV when the shore power cable is connected, the problem is probably in the cord, the connections of the cord in the RV, or your main breaker in the RV's load center.
