Mistakes we don't want to repeat!

Make a checklist. Check it three times physically. If interrupted, start over. Make sure to stick as much things on as possible, down to the breakaway cable and the cap over the sewer drain.

I like double-chocking. The wedge chocks go on (both sides), then out come the BAL X-chocks for each side. That way, if the tires get deflated enough that the X-chocks fall off, the trailer won't move.

ha!..this is funny coz our handle hangs up sometimes and we always have the blackwater valve closed..
took grands and all to campground movie..i ran back to get an extra blanket...
wow..water running out the door from the toilet.
the older lady travelin with them..didn't know the handle had hung up on her.
as i would never be ugly to her..i just laffed it off...
told her it was the self cleaning mechanism.. =-O

I will never, ever, unhook the trailer from the truck without chocking the wheels, no matter how level the site looks, especially when my wife is inside!

Probably one of the worst mistakes was letting some neighbors at a campsite use the toilet. I ended up having to disassemble my macerator pump to pull waterlogged cottonball stuff out of the impellers, as well as use a meter stick to press a football-sized wad of TP down from the section between the toilet bowl and the start of the black tank pipe into the black tank proper, then add water and stir to dissolve the mess so I could pump it out.

First brand new TT: Bought it without sitting on the pot first.
Found out first trip out that when you sat on the toilet you could not close the door if you were over 5 ft tall because your knees hit the door. :R

Same TT: Unhooked it without chocks and it started rolling. I 'thought' I was on level ground in the parking lot I was parked in for a sporting event. Wrong.......and what was parked down from us was a brand new Prevost. All I could think of was how much even the smallest dent on that full body painted Prevost was going to cost me.

Everyone there said I looked like Tom Cruise in Risky Business, where he was sprawled over the hood trying to stop that Porsche from going into the lagoon!

Always make sure your valve is OPEN before washing your black tank. Don't ask how I now this. Easy to get distracted and it gets kinda sorta cra y in the bath

If someone strikes up a conversation when you are doing your breakdown procedure, check it all again before you roll down the highway. That antenna, wheel chock or power cord is real easy to forget.

Do another walk after you are done. Its never a waste of time. There will be few times that you'll notice something important after you were Positive that you were already good to go.

And, after doing a double check, there may be one time you drive off while still hooked to shore power...:E

Not just around, check under and above too!

At least 3 times in the past 2 years my brother forgot to close the dump valves on the camper after dumping to go home. You would think that the FIRST time he got soaked with holding tank remnants when he went camping again would have been enough to remind him.....

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, be afraid to get back out of the TV cab to do one last cheek if you are not 101% sure you did a certain task!!

These items remind me of all the warning labels on new products!!
