A cool mist, Is a cool mist. No matter where you are. They use them at most all theme parks. EVEN in the humid South.
In the humid south you are cooled by the direct contact water. If you stand there you will be wet in a short time. Once you move from the misting area you will be hot and wet. The theory of the misting system is to cool you by the water evaporating. This is why they work best in a low humidity environment. You move into the misting area you get wet, as the water evaporates the body is cooled. The cooling continues as you leave the misting environment the cooling continues until you are dry.
Like as not. It makes you feel cooler. Just like when you get out of a pool, You feel cooler. Well until you dry.
