I have two wells and two city water stubs at the house. One well is artesian in that the water level is always high in this area. That well used to be the community well in days gone by.
Now, we refill plastic gallon bottles at a local spring. We also buy bottled water as a convenience. The bottles are the Devil. if there was any reuse for them besides a funnel, it would make them more tolerable. We recycle most of our plastic, paper, and metals so not much ends up in a landfill.
For a trip in the trailer, I'll fill the tank partly with the house water or visit the spring on our way out. We'll also carry a fiver of water and a case of bottles.
