I just want to ask a question pertaining to what the title is.
More about drinking water safety
Just for folks that drink from your water tank
How long do you think my water would be good if I filled up with city water.
Tank is of course vented so air could get in. In the event of a disaster, we about everything covered except one gallon per day per person.

Thanks
We carry the drinking water chlorine from Wal Mart or Camping World.
the tank has been cleaned with bleach and flushed.
It is usually exchanged several times on a trip so not much chance, of contamination.
I would guess two weeks on properly cleaned tank anyway.
Any water going into it is filtered. Some have water softeners.
I sanitize our tank in the spring and keep adding water during the season as we use the water up. So the water stays in the tank several months. We have been drinking the water from our tank for many years without any problems.
Never have Sanitized a fresh water tank, might drain and refill once in a great while. I have never had an issue, much like my opinion of sanitizing wipes, biggest cause of weakened immune systems!
Your immune system is like a fighter, if it doesn't train it gets weak and is easily defeated.
