I had one of those GM that were supposedly terrible and had no problems. It was a '96 P30-32 in a Pace Arrow 35'. '96 was when they came out with the Vortec and that was a huge improvement over the earlier ones.

I had my 1999 ford chassis for 14 years with no issues. I would not be afraid of one myself, and it is head and shoulders above a chevy P-30/32.

I think Winnebago (or Itasca)is as good as any. We have a 2003 30 ft. Itasca class C and it seems to have quality but the condition and history are still very important. I'm told you can get any replacement part from the factory for Winnebago. We ordered replacement faucets and had no problem and reasonable price.

It depends on what you want to spend. You can go Class C and you will have "Normal" 16" tires, Ford or Chevy Van Chassis which are fairly easy to work on and reliable.

You can go up to a Newer Class A and be in the Bus tire size (19.5 - 22.5") and have a much more durable chassis, but also costs more to maintain.

It then depends on the quality and condition of the "box" on the frame.

I had a 1977 GMC. It was a small Class A Gas and the only real issue was it was old, and mid-70's GM engine was not great, but the body shell was probably the best ever made. It was small, cramped, but cool and had people looking at it all the time.

If I were to buy another older Motorhome, a 1995-1996 Safari (Diesel Pusher) No slides. You can get good ones for very little money and they are very reliable.

Not for those of us thinking of moving to a MH. I'm considering keeping the TT for short trips to tight spots and adding a MH for long trips to places size doesn't matter.
