- TOMMY47ExplorerSOMETIMES, fatal accidents are just accidents. This is NOT one of those times. He should have been locked up at least doing county time.
- dieharderExplorerReally a shame. Really.
Doesn't even sound like a slap on the wrist to me. - nineoaks2004ExplorerI worked in the roads for many years building traffic signals, and dodged the bullet quite a few times. People do not pay attention to what they are doing, cones, flashing lights, etc. should be a hint to anyone who is paying attention that something is going on ahead and to slow down and drive cautiously but but many drivers pay no attention to their surroundings.
This driver got off really light which is a shame, because of in-attention an officer did not make it home that night or forever. - Desert_CaptainExplorer IIICriminally negligent, felony stupid and a fine young officer is dead, a family devastated Two years probation? Are you kidding me??? :M
That moron should be serving every day off the maximum possible sentance not to mention full compensation to the family. He chose to be in a hurry, he chose to put his stupid self interest above the lives of everyone else and calling it an "accident" is an insult to the lost life and his family!
:S - Homer1ExplorerThere surely must be more to this story. How in the world could any judge let him off so light. He killed a man the same as if he had shot him. Every thing appears to have been in place for the safe handling of traffic.
This is a prime case for a civil suit. - azdryheatExplorerI hope the officer's family sues the **** out of the rv driver and takes everything he has and everything he will ever have. The dead officer was served an injustice. The guilty rv'er only got probation for killing a cop. He plead guilty to Vehicular Homicide which is a Class D Felony in Tenn. and carries with it 2-12 years in prison and up to a $5,000 fine, which he got none of. Sounds to me like the prosecuting attorneys were very lazy and not wanting to fight for the officer. Sad.
- gboppExplorerWow. Two years probation?
The judge really stuck it to him. :( - dodge_guyExplorer IIWell that's how it should've turned out. It was an accident not intentional!
Sorry for the loss of the officer and his families suffering!
