My Dad never puts down his jacks, he goes out alone (generally no one else in his trailer except him).. I put mine down for reasons noted above, consideration for others. When I get up to use the bathroom or get up early to have coffee, no reason to wake my wife or daughter or granddaughter.
In a boat (we had a boat in the past, spent many nights anchored in quiet bay), the motion is mostly from the water (other boats or wind making waves, etc) and our movements really don't get noticed... we were anchored one night and were awakened by what felt like our boat getting hit by another... I came up out of the bedroom through the hatch to see a large (40-50') sailboat had hit us. The guy was yelling about me hitting him, but we were still anchored fine, he was the one that did not know how to anchor.. for some reason they left the bay in the middle of the night, perhaps it was because they did not know how to set the anchor and kept drifting...
All good fun, keep on rocking (unless you want to let the wife sleep)..
